The Cliff Hotel near Cardigan sits atop the cliffs overlooking Cardigan Bay, always providing incredible panoramic views and often some dramatic weather. I recently had the pleasure of documenting the wedding of Vicky and Scott at the venue and we were fortunate enough to experience both dramatic weather as well as the amazing landscapes providing the backdrop for the day.
The day began with coverage of the bridal preparations at the Cliff Hotel before taking a short drive into Cardigan for the wedding ceremony, held at St Mary’s Church. We managed to capture some great candid moments of the service before returning to the Cliff for the reminder of the day and the wedding reception.
I always set aside some time for wedding portraits and despite the weather forcing a change of plans in the afternoon, we were able to make full use of the amazing locations near to the venue. Much of the remainder of the day was spent taking plenty of candid photos of the celebrations and capturing the wedding speeches.
I usually finish coverage for the day with the first dance but in this special location, if the weather is on your side you can be treated to an amazing sunset. I know Vicky was hoping that we would be in luck and sure enough just before sunset the clouds cleared, offering the perfect end to Vicky and Scott’s wedding day.
A selection of images from the day are below together with Vicky and Scott’s Wedding Film.
