I recently had the pleasure of photographing the wedding celebrations of Sarah and Declan. The ceremony was held at Siloam Baptist Church in Killay, Swansea, with their wedding reception taking place at Oldwalls, Gower.
Photography and film coverage began with the morning preparations. Sarah and the bridesmaids were getting ready only a short drive from the church at Sarah’s family home, meanwhile Declan and the groomsmen were based near the picturesque Caswell Bay for their preparations.
Once the ceremony in Killay was complete, we took a drive out to the fantastic Rhossili Bay for a few photos with the bride and groom. A location that always offers a spectacular backdrop for some wedding portraits, and with the sun shining we were blessed with fantastic views across the bay towards Llangennith.
When we arrived at Oldwalls, I was able to take plenty of candid photos of guests enjoying the celebrations whilst also covering a few relaxed group photos before the wedding breakfast and speeches.
Over the course of the evening I also try to set aside an extra 10-15 minutes for a few additional weddings portraits. As the light changes and the sun begins to set you can get some lovely images with a different feel to photos taken earlier in the day. On this occasion we were also lucky enough to get a few sunset photos with dusky pink hues across the sky as the sun dropped over the surrounding countryside.
As is customary for weddings at Oldwalls, coverage always concludes with a short fireworks display and sparkler exit. A fitting finale to a fantastic wedding. Congratulations once again to Sarah and Declan!
