What better way to round off a fantastic 2024 and the start of an exciting 2025 than by capturing a New Year’s Eve wedding? It was an absolute pleasure to be able to photograph and film Lleucu and Jac’s amazing day.
The wedding ceremony was held in the small village of Bryn Iwan just outside Carmarthen, with the chapel where the wedding took place situated directly across the road from Lleucu’s family home.
After spending a little time taking some candid photos of the bridal preparations we made our way to the chapel for the arrival of Jac and the wedding guests.
Both Jac and Lleucu have a wide circle of friends and are popular members of their community, evidenced by the fact that this was one of the largest weddings I covered last year. Indeed space in the church was at a premium without a spare seat to be found.
Whilst I love capturing weddings throughout the winter months and especially at Christmas, the one thing you can’t predict at this time of year is the weather. And whilst it stayed mostly dry our plans to head to the coast for some photos were hampered somewhat. Plan b however meant going to the pub which is never a bad backup plan.
The Llwyngwair Arms in the village of Newport is owned by Jac’s family, making it the perfect place to spend a little time before making our way to Wolfscastle Hotel for the wedding reception.
Once at the venue we covered a few group photos and some relaxed wedding portraits before spending the remainder of the day taking plenty of candid images, as Lleucu and Jac celebrated into the evening with their family and friends.
A selection of photos from the day are shown below with the wedding highlights film to follow shortly.
