I recently caught up with Kate and Charlie for their pre wedding photo shoot at Ogmore-by-Sea, one of my favourite locations along the South Wales coastline.
After weeks of warm sunshine and clear skies, on this visit the weather had other ideas, bringing some blustery winds, dramatic clouds and occasional bursts of sunshine. Conditions like this though are often preferable for getting out with a camera, and rather than spoiling things, the changing conditions created a great atmospheric backdrop.
I always say that pre wedding shoots are about far more than simply creating a collection of photographs. They give couples the opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera, experience how relaxed my approach is and build confidence ahead of the wedding day.
As we took a walk along the coastal path and stopped at various locations on the way, we also took the chance to run through the plans for the wedding, making sure everything was in place and answering any final questions before the big day.
We came away with a selection of natural images with a few highlighted below. A little wind and moody skies certainly didn’t stop us enjoying the afternoon, and the session left them feeling relaxed, prepared and excited for everything still to come.
